Johan de Nysschen Says Diesel Cadillacs Are Coming the the US
Great news for Cadillac fans. After many, many years of North America not getting access to diesel vehicles, it seems like we are finally getting our due.
Cadillac CEO Johan de Nysschen has announced that the brand will launch diesel models within the next decade.
"We will definitely bring them to the U.S.," de Nysschen told Automotive News. De Nysschen said four- and six- cylinder iterations are in the works, but it's anyone's guess as to which models these engines will power. Predictably, the diesel Cadillacs will first debut in Europe in 2019, but will make their way across the pond soon after.
Since Cadillac has made no secret that its chasing after the big German brands, it makes sense that Cadillac would introduce diesel engines in their vehicles. That is what the Germans do after all.
